The District Attorney is asking for funding through federal grants to fill in three positions in his department

By Ray Gomez

The District Attorney's office and the Sheriff's Department are asking for assistance from the Law Enforcement Assistance Program.

The positions include two prosecutors, an investigator and support staff.

They will be part of the Narco-Traffic Prosecution Department.

Commissioners gave them a green light to ask for the funding to fill the positions. The Sheriff's Department will also add more deputies for patrol.
