As a young girl, curiosity and the eagerness to learn became a driving force behind the dream of becoming a journalist.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Annette Garcia is the eldest of three children and became a Pro8 News Reporter in December of 2007.

Garcia first became interested in pursuing a journalism degree in high school. Her writing abilities and devotion to the community earned her a spot at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, where she would obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Minor in Music.

Shortly after interning at KSAT 12 News, 23-year old Annette Garcia now holds her first reporting position for KGNS-TV in Laredo.

"It still amazes me..I'm living my dream," she says.

A hardworking person, Garcia has only begun achieving her goals.
