The LBJ Wolves will be looking for a statment win when they take the field Thursday Night. The 1-0 Wolves welcome the 0-1 Eagle Pass Eagles to the SAC.
Wednesday night the LCC Volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Our Lady of the Lake University.
Texas A&M International University dominated all facets of the game in opening Heartland Conference play with a 5-2 rout of St. Mary's on Wednesday night at Dustdevil Field. TAMIU out-shot St. Mary's 17-5 with the game being played on the home team's offensive half of the field for most of the evening.

Palominos standout Nycole Masaki has earned setter of the week honors from the region 14 athletic conference. In the past week, the 19-year old from Hawaii has played in 16 games, leading the team with 160 assists while also picking up eight kills. In addition, Masaki also received all-tournament honors at the recent Lee College Invitational. Masaki and her teammates return to the court Wednesday night against Our Lady of the Lake University in a non-conference match at the Maravillo Gymnasium. Game time is 7 pm.

Cigarroa Head Football Coach Frank De Hoyos began serving a five game suspention monday after using an ineligible athlete in week 0. De Hoyos played a 19 year old during the Toros victory over San Antonio Memorial August 26th.

Last week the Cigarroa football team was disappointed to learn they would not be the first LISD team to play on the new Shirley Field... now its Martin's turn to be disappointed. UISD Athletic Director Bobby Cruz sent an email to Pro 8 Sports saying that due to on-going construction...the inaugural game featuring Martin versus United will be played on Saturday, September 10th at the SAC. The new opening game for Shirley Field is now likely to feature their rival Nixon Mustangs hosting Eagle Pass Winn September 15th.
Nothing but smiles coming from the Alexander Lady Bulldogs... this after topping district favorite Eagle Pass three games to none on Tuesday night. Alexander improved to 2-0 in district play while the Eagles fell to 1-1. Lizzy Prieto led the way for the Bulldogs picking up 12 kills and four blocks. Diana Scott also having a nice night... she finished with 10 kills and three digs.
