Swimmers bring medals back to Laredo

Local swimmers excelled this past weekend at the South Texas Swimming Championships held in Corpus Christi and Brownsville. Ayeesha Mohammed competed in seven events winning six gold medals. Lauren Baxter-Homan won a silver medal in the 100-meter backstroke. Aneesa Mohammed placed fourth in the 400-meter freestyle. Mathew Cavazos placed twelfth in the 50-meter backstroke. Paola Sotelo placed ninth in the 400-meter freestyle. Joan Nava placed eighteenth in the 100-meter breaststroke.
