By KGNS News

The Central Hockey League announced Monday that Laredo Bucks forward Sylvain Deschatelets has been named the Oakley/CHL player of the week for the period ending February 28th.

Deschatelets (pronounced day-SHAT-a-lay), who signed with the Bucks last Wednesday (Feb. 24th), picked up seven points (3-4=7) with a plus-six rating in his first three games with the team last week in leading them to a 2-1 record.

The 30-year-old Deschatelets had three assists Thursday in his Bucks debut in Allen while scoring three goals in two home wins over the weekend. Deschatelets had the game-winning goal in Friday’s 3-2 win over Rio and scored two goals and added an assist in Saturday’s 5-1 thumping of Texas.
