TAMIU Baseball drops wild one

UT-Brownsville defeated Texas A&M International University 16-14 in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Scorpion Field on the UTB campus.

TAMIU scored seven runs in the sixth inning to take a 14-7 lead. UTB started its comeback by scoring five runs in the bottom of that frame. The Scorpions broke a 14-14 tie by scoring two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Luis Bracero reached on a walk and Max St. Hilaire singled in the top of the ninth inning but the threat, and game, ended when Ramon Sandoval struck out swinging.

TAMIU finished with 17 hits in the loss. St. Hilaire led the charge with five hits and three runs scored. St. Hilaire and Sandoval finished with four RBI apiece.
