Bucks Add Rookie Pontes

The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that they have called up rookie defenseman Chris Pontes from the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Pontes is expected to be in the lineup Thursday when the Bucks host Arizona at Laredo Energy Arena.

The 21-year-old Pontes (pronounced PON-tis) has scored eight points (4-4=8) and has a plus-one rating in 11 games for Knoxville this season which ranks him in the top 10 among SPHL defensemen.
