Cano Shares Heartland Conference Honor

Texas A&M International University junior Jaime Cano has been named Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week for games played Sept. 13-19. He shares the honor with Joeski Williams of St. Edward's University.

Cano scored his first two career goals in Sunday's 2-1 Heartland Conference win over Newman. The win boosted TAMIU to a 2-0 start in league play.

Cano provided TAMIU a 1-0 lead when he popped the ball into the net over a drawn out Jet goalkeeper in the 46th minute. NU then fought back to tie the score before Cano provided the game-winner on a header into the net from 10 yards out in the 64th minute.
