Great Weekend for TAMIU Soccer

Texas A&M International University edged UT-Permain Basin 1-0 in double overtime on Sunday afternoon at Dustdevil Field.

TAMIU (5-5, 3-1 Heartland) out-shot UTPB 16-10 in regulation but neither team scored in what was a grinding test of wills. UTPB (1-8, 1-2) goalkeeper Chris Benavides recorded six saves in regulation compared to five saves for Dustdevil goalkeeper Emmanuel Frias.

Texas A&M international University earned its first Heartland Conference win since the 2007 season in dramatic fashion on Sunday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. TAMIU defeated UT-Permian Basin 2-1 in overtime in a physical game in which four yellow and two red cards were issued.
