LCC Facing Blinn College in Home Opener

By KGNS News

Efficiency is a key factor that Laredo Community College head volleyball coach Binny Canales strongly believes will help the Lady Palominos go far in their hunt for the national title this year.

Canales is hoping that the Lady Palominos are efficient on Tuesday, Sept. 14 when they host their first non-conference home match against the Blinn College Buccaneers, which most likely will be the toughest foe LCC will face to date. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Maravillo Gymnasium on the Fort McIntosh Campus. Admission is free of charge.

“We’ve been waiting for Blinn to play us in Laredo for the last four years,” Canales said. “They are a well-coached team that has achieved a lot in the past couple of years.”

Blinn’s volleyball squad is indeed a formidable opponent to play. The Buccaneers won the national championship in 2008 and are consistently ranked in the Top 5 of the national polls.
