Pony League 13 Year Olds World Series Bound

The Laredo Pony League 13 year old all stars are world series bound! Tonight Laredo defeated the Kyle all stars 9-2 earning a bid to the Pony League World Series in Fullerton, California. Jerry Avila was the winning pitcher going all 7 innings giving up only 6 hits. Head Coach Corky Gonzalez says the team will remain in Houston and fly directly to California on Thursday.

The 9 year old Pony League All Stars also celebrating after bringing home the Zone Tournament Title. Laredo edged out the Burleson All Stars in the championship game 3-2 with Sergio Galvan being named the winning pitcher. The Zone Tournament is the highest level for the 9 year old all stars. The team from Laredo won every single game in the tournament by the mercy rule... except for Monday's win over Burleson.
