Blowout win continues to build confidence in the Dustdevils

TAMIU would win the game with offense in a big third game win by a score of 14-4. The Dustdevils improved their record to 9-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The series against University of Arkansas Fort Smith does count towards conference record.
Six players for TAMIU would have a multi hit game in the win including homeruns by Rey Alvarez and a walk off two run blast to left field by catcher Sean Smedley his first of the season.
TAMIU jumped out to an early lead in this one with a four run first inning courtesy of the old saying hit em where they ain't. That is exactly what the Dustdevils did in playing small ball by having runners reach and score on precise hitting. The Dustdevils would add two more runs in the fourth inning and three more in the sixth inning courtesy of Rey Alvarez three run homerun to left field. That was Rey Alvarez second homerun of the year. And just for good measure the Dustdevils would beat up on the Newman bullpen even more with three runs in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth inning.
Pitcher B.J.Valadez would get the victory his second of the year moving him to 2-0 on the year.
Gage Daniels suffers the loss for Newman who drop to 3-11 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
TAMIU will be on the road for a bit but will return to Jorge Haynes Field on March 18th against St. Edwards with first pitch of a doubleheader set for noon.
