TAMIU Dustdevils Seeded #8 In NCAA II Tournament

Head Coach Shane Rinner Excited For Game In Edmond, Oklahoma on Saturday.

Texas A&M International Men's basketball team has advanced to the regional's round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. On Sunday night the Dustdevils found out they have received the eighth seed in the South Central regional. Their opening game opponent will be the Bronchos of the University of Central Oklahoma.

Coach Shane Rinner said "I'm so excited for the guys to get to play in front of a packed house with the electricity of postseason play". TAMIU will make their first trip ever to the regional round of play in basketball on Saturday March 12th inside the Hamilton Fieldhouse on the campus of UCO.

The Bronchos finished the season as the number seven ranked team in the country as they claimed the Lone Star Conference Title with a win over Tarleton State by a 68-52 decision. The Bronchos finished with an overall record of 28-3 including a perfect 14-0 at home.

Texas A&M International University defeated the Falcons of UTPB on Saturday to claim the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament with an overwhelming 86-67 decisive win and finished the season with an overall record of 21-9. The victory also marked the first time in school history that the basketball team has won a Division II Heartland Conference tournament.

I am just so proud of Head coach Shane Rinner. He has brought this group of young men up and they are excelling and playing so well as a team! He is an amazing person on and off the court, who loves his family and friends, and gives GOd the glory for all that they have accomplished these 2 years. SO proud Shane!! :)
