United Baseball Forfeits Wins

By KGNS News

The United Baseball team could not have asked for a better start to the season. Ranked in the top ten in the state and undefeated in district play, The Horns looked poised to make a deep run in the post-season. But those post-season dreams are in jeopardy after the horns were dealt a devastating blow. Tuesday the Horns self reported that they have played every game up to now with an ineligible player. That means every game up to last nights must be forfeited. The Horns go from a 7-0 district record to 0-7, last place in the 29-5a standings. Athletic Director Bobby Cruz said the violation is not an academic issue, rather the student was not taking the required amount of hours to be deemed eligible. The issue has been resolved and the student may play in future games and with 11 games remaining united can still reach the post-season.
