Assistant Laredo Police Chief Fructoso San Miguel is fighting back against what he says is wrong-doing on the city's part. Tonight Laredo city council will review the lawsuit in executive session. San Miguel's lawsuit argues that the city failed to provide sufficient public awareness of the chief of police position. His attorney says there were many violations of the Texas Open Meetings Act. He also talks of a restraining order which the city has already agreed to. For the next 23 days the city cannot demote or terminate San Miguel.
