South Texas readies for Dolly

McALLEN, Texas (AP) - As Tropical Storm Dally churns on a path
toward Texas, officials in Hidalgo County are bracing for 10 to 20
inches of rain.
Forecasters say Dolly could make landfall as a hurricane along
the lower Texas Gulf Coast by late Wednesday. It's expected to land
as a Category 1 storm with sustained winds of 74 to 95
miles-per-hour.
Although no mandatory evacuations have been planned yet,
emergency workers are starting to urge coastal residents to take
caution.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami announced a hurricane
watch from Brownsville north to Port O'Connor this morning.
In Cameron County, officials are alerting workers to be ready to
help residents evacuate flood-prone areas.
At a Home Depot in Brownsville, store operations manager John
Paul Martinez says business this morning was up about 25 percent as
residents came in for plywood, generators, batteries and
flashlights.
