AEP officials say power has been restored following an outage that affected about 23,000 customers.
The outage was caused after a piece of equipment failed causing a voltage problem at a substation.
The outage affected several areas of town but most were confined mostly to the city's north side.
The outages began at around 2:25pm.
According to a spokesperson power was fully restored by 3:15pm
