The Longhorns went undefeated and have had the best record. The Longhorns managed to get to the playoffs, but lost in the first round to Clark.
No other team has matched that feat, so a big hearty Congratulations to all of those fine athletes for their accomplishment.

And with a population of 350 and a high school of only about 100 students, Bruni, Texas might be a hard place to find on the map, but when it comes to football they score big.
Our Flip Romero met up with this year's playoff hopefuls, the Bruni Badgers.

With a 7-1 record this season, the members of the Bruni football team are no strangers to winning.

“The players have a mindset that they're not hoping to win anymore, it is more a sense of urgency. They know they're expected to win.”

The Badgers feed off the community's energy, which helps when they're in a game time clutch situation.

“Our fans, our community, gets behind them, when we travel to out of town games a lot of times we have more fans there than the home team.

“They say big things come in small packages with three consecutive playoff appearances the Bruni Badgers have proven that theory could not be more true.”

With dedicated young men in their line-up, it's easy to see how small things make a difference. Some have to play both offense and defense to get that win in the end.

“You got to give 100 percent all the time.”
Even as the season comes to a close, the Bruni Badgers are still preparing themselves for a successful future.
“Just to get to the next round, because we haven’t passed the first round.”
“As long as the tradition and the need to win stays there, I think we will still be very successful next year.”
