Weather Alert: Area under wind advisory

By Ray Gomez

Today's weather has all the ingredients for a hazardous situation.
Dry conditions and strong winds are setting up for the threat of a wild fire.
The strong winds have caused the national weather service to put a wind advisory in effect for some parts of our viewing area including Zapata County.
Dry vegetation in the region can act as fuel, for wild fires.
Firefighters ask you to avoid causing any sparks from activity like smoking cigarettes or welding at this time.
