Police say the man who led them on a chase through south Laredo yesterday had stolen several tubes of Polydent glue for dentures from a supermarket.
According to police 27-year-old Jose Manuel Contreras stole the denture glue from the HEB downtown.
A witness at the scene told police the man was armed.
After a chase the suspect abandoned his vehicle and left his wife and his three-year-old daughter behind inside the vehicle.
Police say he attempted to take out a gun so an officer fired at him.
No one was injured.
He now faces charges of robbery, evading arrest and endangering a child.
