Police have received toxicology results from the accident that killed Mercurio Martinez the fourth. Police say the results are very critical in determining if any charges will be filed against the driver. It’s been almost nine months since the tragic accident when two teenagers were involved in a rollover. And toxicology results are back to determine whether or not the driver was under the influence. The accident happened the night of October 27th of last year on Plantation Drive. Police say the two teenagers were riding in the car, when suddenly the driver, 19-year-old Alonzo Martinez lost control and hit a tree and then fell into the ditch. 18-year-old Mercurio Martinez IV, grandson of a former judge, was the passenger in the vehicle. Martinez was air lifted in critical condition to a San Antonio hospital where he later died days later. Officers gave Alonzo a toxicology test and the results came back negative. Now the Laredo police department has turned over the case to the district attorney's office. They will determine if there will be any charges filed against Alonzo Martinez.
