The Gateway City has crowned a new Miss Laredo. Casey Rodriguez, described by judges as a "genuine girl" was named Miss Laredo 2009 at the TAMIU Fine Arts Center Saturday evening. Casey was one of a dozen girls competing for the title of Miss Laredo.
Meanwhile, a tall, slender 14-year-old Chelsea Morgensen was crowned Miss Teen Laredo from a field of 19 contestants.
Organizers say it was the largest group of contestants in the pageant's history with 31 young ladies participating.
5 local and out-of-town judges rated the girls in three categories: interview, swimsuit and evening gown. A set of 5 local and out-of-town judges participated in each category.
