The Miss Texas Pageant was held over the weekend in Houston.
Laredoan Ana Rodriguez who was competing as Miss Central Texas was first runner up.
Ana has been competing for Miss Texas for several years.
She has represented Laredo as Miss Laredo USA and Miss Teen USA.
Also Miss Laredo Teen Chelsea Morgenson was at the pageant.
According to Laredo pageant director Roel Gonzalez, Chelsea is expected to follow Lauren Guzman's steps in becoming Miss Teen Texas.
According to Gonzalez, he has met with Texas pageant directors who say they want to come to Laredo and train the girls.
Texas pageant directors have expressed that Laredo has a big potential for future beauty queens.
