Breaking News: Shootout in Nuevo Laredo between Mexican Army and drug traffickers

By Ray Gomez

The American consulate in Nuevo Laredo is tonight on lock down following what we understand to be a shootout between the Mexican army and drug traffickers.
It happened about an hour ago in the downtown area near the consulate's office.
It’s unclear if anyone was killed or injured in the gun battle.
We’re told the attack was in no way aimed at the Mexican consulate or staff.
It just happened to be outside the facility.
That’s the reason for the precaution.
This is another story you will likely not see in any of the Mexican mediums.
They’ve been instructed by the cartels not to publicize anything dealing with violence or bloodshed.
