A group of local students are honored this morning for being great role models.
The first ever 'Community Role Model awards' were handed out at Cigarroa High School.
The program is sponsored by the Webb County Sheriff's Department, The Fernando A. Salinas Charitable Trust and KGNS, your Good Neighbor Station.
Eight students, one from each high school, were selected by their counselors and recognized for their commitment to living a drug free lifestyle, volunteering in the community, and setting an example for their peers.
