.U.S. Marshals picked up 27-year-old Norma Patricia Olguin a few minutes after 10 this morning.
Olguin is being charged with 13 felony counts, including 12 for child abandonment and one for aggravated assault of a minor, stemming back to the September case of her two-year-old daughter Katherine Cardenas.
Olguin allegedly left her child alone at home at the time of her death.
According to a press release out of the U.S. Marshals, police reports say the body of the little two-year-old showed signs of being sexually assaulted as well.
Now back when we spoke to Olguin's family members, her sister actually told us Olguin was a good mother that always took good care of her children.
They claimed that any accusations of abuse were false, but almost five months later, a deputy of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force went in search of Olguin:
“When they go there she wasn’t there but she was found at another address where she was remanded to the Webb County Jail.”
Olguin would eventually be arrested at a house in the 4300 block of Convent.
She is being held on an overall bond of $110,000.
A 16-year-old has also been charged in connection with the case.
He faces capital murder charges and is awaiting certification to be tried as an adult.
