The National Work Zone Memorial comes to Laredo as part of their statewide tour.
The special memorial remembers those who lost their lives in work zone accidents.
The memorial has more than 1,300 names of which more than 290 are Texans.
Nationally, there are over 800 fatalities in work zone-related crashes each year.
Those lives lost not only include construction workers, but also motorists, pedestrians, law enforcement officers and children.
In 2008, the Laredo district had two work zone fatalities and 270 crashes.
