Breaking News: Two victims hospitalized after a shooting in Central Laredo
Police remain on the scene of a shooting in central Laredo that left two people injured.
A man who knew one of the victims could be seen rushing to the scene as police tried to hold him back. It happened around 6:30, Wednesday evening.
Officers blocked off a stretch of the 3000 block of Barcelona as detectives processed the scene.
Details are still sketchy but police confirm a man and woman were shot.
It's unknown how many shots were fired, but neighbors say they heard at least ten rounds.
Elizabeth Abrego, a neighbor, says:
"He was shot in his arm, he was still walking and the lady was on the sidewalk she was yelling and you could see a lot of blood."
Investigators say the woman who they believe is responsible for the shooting was related to one of the victims.
The suspect has been taken into custody.
Both victims were taken to the Laredo Medical Center with, what police say are, non-life-threatening injuries.
