Two dead after vehicle plunges into Zacate Creek

By Ray Gomez

Several law enforcement agencies are investigating an accident after an SUV plunges into the Zacate Creek killing two people.
Our Noraida Negron was there and has the latest from the scene.
"The accident happened earlier this afternoon. According to authorities, an SUV with four people inside crashed at the creek."
From what we could see, the vehicle landed upside down on top of a rock.
Four people were inside like we said. Two of them received serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
The other two were confirmed dead.
According to Border Patrol, there were five other people detained who were not inside the vehicle.
It was an attempted human smuggling case.
Roque Sarinana, U.S. Border patrol:
"The desperation of smugglers shows how they have no regards for life. They don't care about people they are smuggling. What they see is a financial sign in the end."
We will have the latest information of this incident coming up on Pro 8 News at Six.
