The 5th annual Spring Break Kite Festival takes place Thursday at North Central Park, and city organizers say they've made plans for a better parking situation this year. Festivalgoers will be able to park in the United Day School parking lot, and at the United High School 9th grade campus. Those who park at United High’s 9th grade campus will be taken via shuttle service to North Central Park. Organizers say the event is fun for the whole family. Xochitl Mora Garcia from the City of Laredo says, “People can take their picnic baskets, tents, chairs, blankets, or anything to make them comfortable. They can take any food that they wish to enjoy out there at the park.”
The event is Thursday from noon to 7pm and is free to the public. It will feature carnival rides, a petting zoo, and of course, plenty of kite flying.
