Council trying get El Metro back on mall property

By Ray Gomez

City Council meets tonight and one topic on the agenda is the El Metro route to the mall that was recently suspended.
According to Mayor Raul Salinas, there have been numerous complaints about the service being removed.
Many people are asking City Council to do something since they now have to walk two to three blocks along very busy streets from the bus stop to the mall.
Salinas says the Mall was blaming the buses for the road damage on Mall property.
But he says the Mall should also look at the tractor-trailers that bring in merchandise to the different stores.
"Hopefully we will be talking to management here and if necessary we will go to corporate and talk with folks there. But I think we have an opportunity to have a good dialog." Mayor Raul Salinas told Pro 8 News.
Tonight at City Council they will discuss ways to resolve the matter.
