Comic books becoming a more popular medium

For some people, ordinary books aren't so popular, so they've found themselves turning to comic books.

It's not just kids, people of all ages are picking up comic books and graphic novels.

A lot of people may not know this but comics are an award-winning medium and often become New York Times best-selling books.

According to a local comic storeowner, parents are using this type of literature to get their kids into reading:

"A lot of parents bring their kids in here, and I do it with my kids myself, to encourage them to read. Because it's visual they enjoy the stories and they feel it’s not something being forced on them because they enjoy doing it."

Legacy Comics earns more than $100,000 in sales each year.
