UISD: student in with "stuffy nose", not "breathing problems"

By Ray Gomez

Earlier this week, we told you about a mother who was concerned that her child was not properly attended to after seeing a school nurse at Alma Pierce Elementary.

Well, after seeing the story another concerned mother came forward and says the same thing happened to her son, this time at a UISD school.

The mother says her son suffers from asthma and bronchitis and the school has records of it, but she says the school nurse didn't look at her son’s records.

The mother states that her son came home after school and was taken to the hospital after suffering from a severe case of bronchitis and a fever of 103.

UISD made a statement today saying the student did go to the nurse’s office on Monday, but he had a lower grade of temperature.

UISD says the student came in with a stuffy nose but not for breathing problems.

The student was given Vicks and sent back to class.
