New play tackles the issue of teen death

A new play that touches on the topic of suicide is set to start running next weekend here in Laredo.

It targets youth and the bad decisions many of them may make.

City officials welcomed members of "The 99" today at City Council Chambers.

The creators of the play say it's based on the reality that 31 teenagers will die in car accidents today, 16 will die in homicides, and 12 will commit suicide totaling to 99 deaths nationwide each day.

The play premiers next weekend at the LEC.
