We have now learned the identity of the elderly man who passed away over night after being struck down by a car in the down town area.
It happened at about 8 PM on the 13-hundred-block of Santa Maria and Scott Street.
The 80-year-old Armando Ramirez reportedly walking in a non crossing area of the street when he was hit by a car.
He was rushed to Laredo Medical Center where he died.
The incident has now been updated to a hit and run..
Investigators tell us they went door to door in the area last night in search of witnesses.
Police have a vague description of the vehicle, as of now police are looking for a red or maroon four-door car, that may have front hood and windshield damage.
