Elections Officials: Except for a few problems, Early Voting went smoothly

By KGNS News

According to elections officials, ballots were counted in a timely manner, but they did have problems with electronic machines.

All judges brought the machines to the elections office to close them at 7pm because the judges were not trained to override the machines.

Meanwhile, the elections office was expecting a better voter turnout for Election Day. Early voting shows over 19 thousand people voted and Election Day just below 12,000.
After all results came in there are five races that are going to a run-off.

In the first race, Webb County Judge, Danny Valdez and Tano Tijerina will compete for your votes in April.

On election night both agreed they would continue to run a clean campaign.

Another race where two candidates will go head to head is Webb County Commissioner Precinct Two; Rosaura "Wawi" Tijerina got 48% of the votes, Judith Gutierrez got 36%.

Other run off races included county commissioner precinct four, judge for the 111th District Court, and Justice of the Peace Precinct Two, Place One.

So if you want to make a difference come out and vote.
