High winds have swept through Laredo all day Monday, causing a brush fire and also putting many residents at an inconvenience with power outages.
Many of the residents without power Monday are in central and south Laredo.
AEP reports some houses on Anna Avenue, the Heights area, and the Santo Nino area are still without electricity Monday night.
Streetlights were out over one resident’s house. The man got creative to get light to continue working on his car.
AEP electric said they will have full crews working until midnight Monday and will then will only have a skeleton crew to respond to emergency calls throughout the night.
They will continue restoring electric at 7:00 Tuesday morning.
Over 6,000 residents were affected by electricity outages throughout the day.
