Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Alan Bersin paid a visit to Laredo for a public forum today.
Bersin spoke to local U.S. and Mexican officials about the future of trade in Laredo.
He discussed CBP's new vision for improving the secure flow of legal goods and people through our ports of entry.
Many people eagerly attended the town-hall-style meeting, asking questions about immigration and border security.
“The cartel war is concerning to a lot of people that it will spill over and start affecting American lives,” said Laredoan Chris Bowling.
“We will do what we need to do and continue to do it to support the heroic struggle of the Calderon administration and the people of Mexico,” says Commissioner Alan Bersin.
Bersin also addressed concerns about funding for better bridge infrastructure.
