One Laredo basketball player has decided to continue his career at the next level, verbally committing to Southwestern University. Alexander's Nolan Wilson said he chose SU not only because of their great basketball program, but also because of their academics. Southwestern is located in Georgetown, Texas. "It feels great, I mean, since I was a freshman in high school I always dreamed to play college basketball. I didn't know where it was going to be, I had a lot of choices but Southwestern was the best fit and I'm happy I've decided and I know where I'm going to be for my future four years." Wilson was named to the district all-conference second team his junior year and was also earned the defensive most valuable player his senior year in district 29-5A. An interesting fact, Wilson is the second basketball player from Laredo to play for Southwestern. The first was Rusty Segler back in the 1970's.
