The man accused of shooting and killing his two children inside Laredo's Holiday Inn will be back in court tomorrow.
Back on June 19th, law enforcement agents were called out to the hotel on San Bernardo where shots were heard coming from inside a room.
When police entered, they found Demond Bluntson's 6 year old son, Jayden Thompson, shot twice a point black range. He died two days later at a San Antonio hospital.
His one year old brother was also shot in the room and died at the scene.
36-year old Bluntson was arrested at the scene.
Tomorrow, Bluntson will face a judge as his attorney, Chief Public Defender Hugo Martinez, files with the state for a reduced bond.
"The law says that if you have not been indicted on a felony case and it's been 90 days since the date of incarceration, you're entitled to reasonable bond," says Martinez.
Meanwhile, the state is seeking to indict Bluntson for capital murder charges to the Grand Jury today.
In a statement from District Attorney Chilo Alaniz, he says, "The State is filing capital murder charges for the death of the two little boys and if the Grand Jury decides to indict, we will seek the death penalty."
Bluntson's attorney tells us even if the judge does grant a lower bond, it's unlikely he will be released because he's still being held on 'no' bond in Wharton County for his alleged killing of the boys' mother, Brandy Cerny.
Of course, we'll continue following the case.
