U.S. Customs and Border Protection seize a combined total of 32 lbs. of heroin in two separate cases. The total value is estimated at over $1-million dollars.
The first incident occurred Saturday at the International Bridge #1. A 22 year-old man from Illinois was sent to secondary inspection with his vehicle. That's where the agents found 19 packages of heroin.
The second seizure happened the same day at the same bridge when a 33 year-old man also from Illinois, was trying to enter the U.S., driving an SUV. Agents sent him to a secondary inspection, and found 6 packages of heroin within the SUV. The two drivers were arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
