Candidates Prepare for Run-Off

By KGNS News

If you thought election season was over, there's one more round of voting to go.
Tomorrow is the first day for early voting in the run-off election of council member district seven.
Our Annette Garcia caught up with the candidates to talk about how their campaigns are going.
After a long election season, the two candidates left standing for council member district seven say, they're not tired yet.
“I’m doing Facebook and a lot of block walking. Calling friends on the phone and texting any way that we can communicate our message.
Candidate Hector Lee Patino taking time to be part of a political forum just before early voting begins on Wednesday.
And the incumbent Jorge Vera said he's still going door to door talking to the people and hoping to win over voters who's favorite candidates didn't make it all the way to the runoffs.
“I just want to tel them that their candidate has interviewed me and they felt i was the best candidate. i have done the right thing for our district and city as a whole and their candidate has put their trust in me and i wont let you down believe you me.”
“There’s a reason why they voted for that candidate against the incumbent and that's huge that’s why we are here in the runoff and i believe that we can make a difference.”
Patino says there are many questions the Vera hasn't answered.
“Why is it that he put a million dollars on the golf course instead of investing it on the district.”
“Why is there not a safety plan to protect the citizens from the world trade bridge and the 18 wheelers.”
Vera say's his record shows he'd done what residents of district seven have asked for.
“They’ve seen what I've done and they’re pretty happy and I’m sure we will be successful..”
“I keep that alive keep that going the energy of one more campaign.”
and voters will get their chance to decide.
Early voting for the run-off election begins tomorrow and runs through December 11th.
Election day is Saturday December 15th.
