Car Fire Under Investigation

By KGNS News

Arson investigators are now trying to determine what started a blaze in the parking lot of a local apartment complex.
The fire damaged a total of three vehicles and investigators say there's a good chance the fire was set on purpose.
The fire began around one in the morning Tuesday in the Broad Acres Apartments parking lot on McPherson.
A total of three vehicles were damaged.
This car is a total loss.
It now sits in the police department parking lot as evidence.
“It's a complete loss. there’s no repairing this car at all.”
Officers were called after people reported hearing sounds of gunshots but police say that sound was actually the windows being popped out of the vehicle and by the damages you can tell just how intense that heat was.
Plastics all the combustibles create such an intense heat that will literally destroy anything on the inside.
The owners of the damaged vehicles didn't want to go on camera, neither did a neighbor who told us he saw someone suspicious at the scene and believes the vehicle was intentionally set on fire.
He was afraid to talk about what he saw.
“There are a few people that were named as possible suspects in the case.”
But right now there is no suspect in the case.
Arson is investigating.
“We hope to have some results on what exactly caused it.”
Investigators ask that anyone with information on the case please call police at 795-2800.
Luckily no one was injured and the fire did not spread to the nearby apartment complex.
