Figures have varied slightly throughout the day. But in the latest update Laredo’s Emergency Management Team saying cresting is now forecasted at 23 feet. This after the river crested at Columbia Bridge early Sunday. Take a look at the Rio Grande this afternoon, 32 feet is how high the water levels reached at that bridge just North of us. Officials say the banks are more narrow than they are down river. So the levels decreasing as the river widens. They say they’re confident on the forecast after keeping close contact with the national weather service and counterparts in Mexico.
