Debate Expectations: Laredoans Opine

By KGNS News

Tonight, debate viewers will get a better look at the two candidates vying for your vote for president. For some, though, tonight's debate won't make a difference, because they've already decided. For others, they'll be hanging on every word. We went out to the local post office to see what's important to people.

One man said, "the economy, immigration, what benefits are all the people going to be receiving after the elections."

A woman said they're interested in hearing about health care: "Well, health care, it's very important. I think people need to know about health care. I think elderly people, like myself, almost getting there with Medicare, need to see what's going on with their thoughts on that."

Homeland security is on another man's mind: "A couple of things, homeland security is very strong and also the health care, we need to. A lot of us don't have insurance, especially in the private sector. So, those two issues are very important to me and my family."

Yet another man is concerned with student affairs: "Something they need to address is anything that has to do with scholarships and funds, see which one is going to do more."

You can catch the first presidential debate here on KGNS beginning at 8PM and running through 10PM.
