For an entire week probation and parole officers will have this whole week dedicated to them. They are celebrating national probation and parole week.
Just in Texas there is a sum of seven thousand probation officers overseeing 300 thousand people on probation.
Probation department director Rebecca Palomo wants to remind the community that a probation officers job is not easy.
Rebecca Palomo, Probation Department Director,
"The probation officers are the backbone and if the probation officers are doing a good job and are rehabilitating successfully the offenders that are on probation then resition goes down these individuals have a chance to get a job."
A variety of activities will be held through out the week. Tomorrow an event is scheduled to takes place at Jett Bowl North.
