The Webb County Sheriff's Office is taking over the investigation involving a shooting and a crash on Highway 83 North Tuesday morning.
Eliud Gamez Perez has been identified as the man behind the wheel.
We have now obtained pictures of the truck investigators say was stolen in San Antonio.
Border patrol tells us agents rescued Perez from the crash after firing their weapons when the driver allegedly tried to run them over.
Perez was flown to a San Antonio hospital with serious injuries.
