Some volunteers are giving a helping hand to South Texas Food Bank’s Adopt-A-Family Program.
In an effort to give back and bring awareness to families that need food Molina Health Care of Texas employees have partnered with the South Texas Food Bank this morning.
Families were given forty-five-pound bags of groceries.
The Adopt-A-Family program allows the community to become part of the solution to help alleviate the hunger problem here in our communities and are always happy to see more and more volunteers.
The poverty rate in Webb County is thirty three percent and about forty two percent of all children enrolled in public schools in Laredo are living at or below the poverty level according to the South Texas Food Bank.
