Laredo Police are warning the public of a rise in Ford truck thefts. The increasing cases are being blamed on a ring of theives out there taking your trucks to Mexico. Investigaters say the theft of F-250's became more apparent at the start of this Summer. Since then an LPD Taskforce has targeted the ring with undercover surveilance and an ongoing investigation, leading the to arrest of five men that officers say are either directly connected to the thefts, or have some involvement in the cimiminal operation. The men detained, after multiple search warrents, were served in West, Central and South Laredo. They are not the only ones beleived to be involved. Police say more arrests are pending. We're told F-250 thefts have occured all along I-35, including the mall. They are cautioning drivers to lock up vehicles, and your hoods, hide valuables, park in well lit areas, and to install anti-theft devices.
