A man headed into to Laredo on his motorcyle loses his life in a fatal highway accident.
Laredo Police rushed to the 12 mile marker at around 3:30 this afternoon, soon after the accident on the southbound lane of Interstate 35.
Officers tell us the victim died at the scene when the mans motorcycle collided with a Chevy pick up truck.
Details of exactly what caused the accident are still vague at this point.
However, investigators have released the idenity of the motorcyclist.
He is 52 year old Edwin Atwell..
We're told Atwell was a driver for the Laredo Fire Department who retired two years ago.
Edwin Atwell served with the Laredo Fire Department for 30 years. Tonight firefighters say they are saddened by the loss.
